“Art” does not only refer to drawing or painting. Its definition has emotions and skills practiced involved indeed, that an individual could express one’s self imagination and creativity through works or activities, which impress the spectators. “Art” can be considered as another way of meditation as it helps an individual to stay focus, be calm, and relax.
And this is how “ART STORY” has begun. The Social Enterprise for autistic kids and adults, to pass on their imagination and feelings into products and works, which can perceive through 5 senses; drawing/design/craft (vision & touch), coffee and bakery (taste & smell), and Thai traditional musical band (hearing). Supported by Autistic Thai Foundation, to enhance and develop their skills. Once they reach the proficiency level, they will enter the workforce, to earn steady income for themselves and their families.
This cubicle is full of stories and creative masterpieces, created by more than 30 autistic artists, under the guidance and training from specialised teachers. The learning process of art could help them develop and grow their potential through art works, which later are brought into consumer’s products, to show their imagination, cognitive thinking, and perspective, to create enjoyment for people in the society.
Every single autistic is a talented artist. Everyone has their own story, unique character, and different way to grow their techniques and skills. However, they have the same goal, that is to generate sustainable income through the Autistic Thai Social Enterprise, which they are not only earning for themselves, but also sharing to the community through social activities.
